About the Akarigbo
Oba Dr. Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, CFR, the Akarigbo and paramount ruler of Remo land, ascended the throne on December 7, 2017. A native of the Torungbuwa ruling house, he holds degrees in law and social sciences, and is a chartered accountant and lawyer. Known as a progressive monarch, he has leveraged his professional background to drive unity, development, and peace across Remo’s 44 towns. His reign has witnessed significant strides in infrastructure, youth engagement, and cultural revival. Respected for his wisdom and leadership, Oba Ajayi plays a key role in elevating Remo land’s prominence within Ogun State and beyond.
The Akarigbo's Mandate
The Akarigbo of Remo Land, as the paramount ruler and custodian of the Remo Kingdom, is entrusted with the mandate to unify, guide, and represent all sons and daughters of Remo both at home and in the diaspora. His role is deeply rooted in fostering unity, peace, and socio-economic development across the communities of Remo Land. The Akarigbo is committed to upholding cultural heritage, promoting traditional institutions, and working collaboratively with stakeholders, government bodies, and development-focused entities to ensure the continuous advancement of Remo Land.
Through his visionary leadership, the Akarigbo serves as the moral compass and voice of the people, dedicated to mobilizing human and material resources for the benefit of the kingdom.
